## 3. Number Squares

The number squares, from 1 to 99 with maths symbols and extra zeros plus a blank grid are on page 3a. Extra sheets of maths symbols are on page 3b. They can be cut out and used as cards for many maths activities. Each card has a number and its text equivalent, and there is space below the printed word to practise copying the text. The more time spent on this activity, the more familiar words and numbers become.

The number squares may also be glued on the Alphabet Cubes in section 7.

Of course numbers are part of everyday life, keeping a Diary, telling the time, making a shopping list.
