This little project is easily completed in just six stages.

Each stage is illustrated, from covering a paper cup with glued strips of white copy paper, to the end result, which is an attractively patterned and finished object, useful for holding pens and pencils or perhaps, with a bag of sweets inside and tied with a ribbon, as a small gift for a friend.

The downloadable instructions for this project include a printable template of flower patterns to colour in and glue on the cup if required.

As a starter 3D project, the activities involved such as, following stage by stage instructions, using the illustrations and text, and physically completing the project successfully, are skills that the user can carry through and further develop naturally.
