More Paper Figures
The basic paper figure shown in the Figure project can easily be altered, using the same materials but changing the stance or adding one or two accessories such as the Reader´s book and box, or Juggler´s hoops shown here. The same techniques have been used to make both small figures. Painting them white emphasises the shapes. They can be made any size and also be coloured. Paper clothes can also be added. Examples of these variations are the Basket Maker and the Seated Figure

The Reader, about 30cm high, was made on a framework of tightly rolled paper tubes fastened with masking tape and with stem wire inserted.
The figure was strengthened with glued strips of tissue paper then painted white and fastened on a base with hot glue.
The figure is holding a tiny hand made book and the open box was made from a cut down soap box.
The Juggler
The Juggler about 30cm high, was also made on a framework of tightly rolled paper tubes fastened with masking tape and with stem wire inserted. Masking tape was used to fasten the framework together then some paper padding was used to make the required shape, and strengthened by covering with glued tissue strips. The figure was then painted white and hot glued to a base of paper plates.
